Default More outposts needed for logging...

I spent an hour fighting my way from Camp Rankor to Ice Dome..then another half hour continuing on untill I got that freakin Err=7 (disconnect from Arnet).
When I logged back in, I was back at Camp Rankor again !
That sucks..
I can't be bothered to do all that again, and if this is how it is in the mountains, exploring ain't gonna be on my priority list.
Sorry Arnet..you need to look into this.

Hmm, maybe it'll take some time, but a Save Anywhere feature in Monster areas and missions would be extremely nice, as people do get annoyed when that happens, especially when the server suddenly times out...

Why? So that people can sprint past a set of mobs, save, reload with full health, go past the next group?

Me thinks not.

A save anywhere feature doesn't work in a multiplayer game for gameplay reasons, nor can ArenaNet afford to host save files in a game without a monthly fee (and client side save files are too easy to abuse).

More outposts would be a good idea. Also splitting up some of the longer missions. According to ArenaNet, one of the design goals was that the game was playable in half hour breaks.

lol No. They would just save all the stats as is. ... so your HP/MP will be the same levels when you last saved. Thats so there won't be any balancing issues.

I suggested his before but people who said such as Deagol said have shown me the light (and it's not a pretty light... *grumble grumble*)

I wanted to be able to "set up camp" pitch a tent and use it as your own temporary waypoint...

But righto, it would either be too easy to abuse (save on your pc) or there would be thousands and thousands of saved games on the servers...

But wait... there are already 4 saved characters for every player, with loads of statistics, gold, items, armor, locations, mappoints, quests/missions, storyline, etc... would this not be less heavy than even a fifth character since it merely saves a location, location of surrounding mobs and present health/energy/adrenaline status? The rest (level, items, nearest town, map, etc) is saved on your normal character save

This would be possible, and it's not as heavy as it sounds. Compare it to even what would be saved with only one character at any given point.
